To Start With
This website is meant to be developped as time goes on and my grasp of
coding improves. For the moment it is done in a very simple way with no
buzzers and bells -- as yet.
Who I am
My name is Franz Andres Morrissey. I was employed by the University of
Bern in 1988, first as a research and teaching assistant, and then,
from 1990 onward, as a lecturer. I retired from this position, more of a vocation,
actually, that has meant so very much to me, in 2021, but am still
listed as an ajunct researcher. Over all these years I have never
stopped thinking about a lot of different issues related to
language, communication and performance, and this was because working
with so many interested and generous students and colleagues over time has taught
me as much about these topics as I hope I managed to teach them. It was for that
reason that I wanted to ensure some lectures and materials related to
these thoughts would still be available after my retirement.
One of the things about my work was to produce teaching materials that
were informative, didactically apt and also visually engaging, the
latter being perhaps even a bit of an obsession. I thought that at least for
the time being, I would ensure that the these materials remain
accessible, for those who are interested and for those who may be able
to make use of some of the techniques or even the actual podcasts and
"handouts" for themselves or for their work.
Please note that all materials are copyright and must not be passed off as anybody else's work.
If you want to contact me, be it with with questions or to point out
errors, of which I am sure there are some (if not plenty), if you would
like to use the material for anything else that your own information,
you can reach me under
franz.andres-squigglybit-unibe.ch.
Now have fun exploring the site and what it has to offer. Please, don't
hesitate to get in touch, to ask for clarifications or to let me know
how you might want to work with what is on offer here.
All the very best
